Barbara Oglesbee, DVM, Diplomate, ABVP is a board-certified Avian & Exotics Veterinarian. Dr. Oglesbee is a graduate of  The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is one of approximately 100 veterinarians worldwide who are board-certified in avian medicine and surgery. In addition to practicing at MedVet Hilliard, Dr. Oglesbee also serves as an Associate Professor of Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Oglesbee has more than 20 years of experience treating exotic pets of all shapes and sizes. She has authored and contributed to multiple textbooks used by veterinarians worldwide, and has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Oglesbee is an advocate for continuing education, and lectures to veterinary professionals at state, national, and international veterinary conferences.

Dr. Oglesbee’s favorite thing about practicing veterinary medicine is the challenge of diagnosing and treating exotic pet illnesses. She enjoys having the ability to improvise and create solutions based on the unique size and anatomical differences of each patient.  She will speak on Exotic Companion Mammals, especially rabbits, chinchillas and guinea pigs.

Dental disease
Urinary tract disease
Alternative spay and neuter techniques
