Dr. Canfield is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He entered private practice in Florida following graduation. He worked in general practice for several years prior to pursuing a dermatology residency.

He was subsequently accepted into a residency program at the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Tustin, California. Dr. Canfield traveled between the Tustin, California; Marietta, Georgia; and New Port Richey, Florida practices throughout his residency training which broadened the diversity of his experiences.

Upon completion of his residency, he remained in the Marietta, Georgia practice while concurrently serving as emergency clinician for Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic and as a general practitioner when traveling to Florida each month. Dr. Canfield served as a dermatologist at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners and at locations in Fort Pierce, Melbourne, and St. Petersburg, Florida for Animal Dermatology South.

Dr. Canfield has extensive experience in cryosurgery and laser surgery. He enjoys the diversity that dermatology affords while maintaining a love for and an active role in general practice. Dr. Canfield has lectured at local, state, and national veterinary meetings and is a Florida continuing education provider.
