DESCRIPTION:Dr. Chas McBrien and Dr. Rochelle Prudic from Cleveland Medvet 
 will be doing a joint session on Surgery and Oncology.\n\nCanine Mast Cell
  Tumors - 1.5 hours\nPrinciples of surgical oncology – 1 hour\nGastroint
 estinal surgery – 1 hour\n\nThis meeting is sponsored by Idexx and Hill'
 s.\n\nPlease note the new location - Medvet Cleveland West auditorium - 20
 400 Emerald Parkway\, Cleveland\, OH 44135.  The auditorium is a separate 
 entrance from the hospital.  Do NOT go into the hospital for the meeting.\
 n\nRochelle A. Prudic\, DVM\, Diplomate\, ACVIM (Oncology)\, is a board-ce
 rtified medical oncologist at MedVet Cleveland where she has been part of 
 the team since 2018. Dr. Prudic earned a Bachelor of Science degree in bio
 logy/immunology and chemistry from the University of Akron in Akron\, OH. 
 Following the completion of her undergraduate studies\, she earned her Doc
 tor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Scienc
 es in Pomona\, CA. Dr. Prudic then went on to complete a year long interns
 hip in small animal medicine and surgery at the Angell Animal Medical Cent
 er in Boston\, MA. She next completed a medical and surgical oncology inte
 rnship at the University of Florida in Gainesville\, FL\, followed by a th
 ree-year oncology residency at the University of Georgia in Athens\, GA.\n
 \nPassionate for all aspects of veterinary Medical Oncology\, Dr. Prudic h
 as a special interest in lymphoma\, hemangiosarcoma\, multi-modal pain con
 trol\, client communication techniques\, neoplasia of unknown primary\, im
 munotherapy\, targeted therapy\, palliative care and promotion of quality 
 of life in caregivers/patients.  She is an advocate for teaching/mentorshi
 p\, mental health within the veterinary profession\, and also enjoys publi
 c speaking.  When not caring for her patients\, Dr. Prudic loves music\, g
 reat coffee\, horseback riding\, travel and her cat Ralston.  \nCharles (C
 has) S. McBrien\, Jr.\, DVM\, MS\, Diplomate\, ACVS-SA is a board-certifie
 d Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Cleveland West. He has been part of the Med
 Vet surgery team since 2015. Dr. McBrien attended Earlham College where he
  earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and The Ohio State University College of
  Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine deg
 ree.\n\nDr. McBrien started his MedVet career in 1998 as a receptionist an
 d then as a Veterinary Assistant in the surgery department while attending
  veterinary school. Following his graduation\, Dr. McBrien completed a yea
 rlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Michigan State Un
 iversity followed by a three-year residency in small animal surgery combin
 ed with a Masters of Science degree at the University of Minnesota.\n\nAft
 er becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterin
 ary Surgeons\, Dr. McBrien worked as a staff surgeon at Northeast Veterina
 ry Referral Hospital in Plains\, Pennsylvania before rejoining the MedVet 
 team. Dr. McBrien has authored and co-authored various articles in veterin
 ary publications including Veterinary Surgery\, Veterinary Radiology and U
 ltrasound as well as in the Manual of Trauma Management in the Dog and Cat
 . He is an active advocate of continued education for veterinary professio
 nals and routinely lectures on various surgery topics.\n\nDr. McBrien main
 tains an interest in all aspects of surgery with particular interests in T
 ibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO) for cranial cruciate ligament repa
 ir in dogs\, fracture repair\, and minimally invasive surgery. When not tr
 eating patients\, Dr. McBrien enjoys outdoor activities including fishing\
