Pathology
Dr. Barger received her DVM from the University of Illinois and did her clinical pathology residency at North Carolina State University. She is ACVP board-certified in clinical pathology. In 2002 she was hired as a Clinical Assistant Professor with appointments in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and the Department of Pathobiology. In 2014 Dr. Barger was promoted to full Clinical Professor and has been named the Assistant Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Her research interests are immunocytochemistry and osteosarcomas, but her first love is teaching and interpreting cytology submissions and especially her canine companions.
