 aining at Michigan State University and residencies (Internal Medicine and
  Nutrition ) and her PhD at the University of Minnesota. She is a Diplomat
 e of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Nutrition. She i
 s currently a professor and director of a nutrition residency at the Unive
 rsity of Minnesota. She loves seeing patients in the clinic and mentoring 
 students\, and trying to find better ways to teach nutrition and make it e
 asier for healthcare teams to integrate nutrition into the care of all pat
 ients.  Dr. Churchill serves as the course coordinator and primary instr
 uctor for all small-animal nutrition courses across all 4 years of the DVM
  curriculum.\nDr. Churchill is passionate about all aspects of small anima
 l clinical nutrition\, including the proactive role of nutrition in wellne
 ss and preventive care\, obesity prevention and treatment\, the nutrition 
 needs of geriatric patients\, nutritional management of kidney diseases\, 
 and critical care nutrition. She is also interested in teaching and improv
 ing client communication to successfully integrate nutrition into the care
  of every patient. She served on the task force to develop the AAHA guidel
 ines for weight management. She serves on the executive board of the Pet N
 utrition Alliance (PNA) to develop a” Go-to” website for credible nutr
 itional information for veterinary practice teams. Dr. Churchill also serv
 es on the Board of the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention and is a coa
 uthor and advocate for a global pet obesity initiative\, which has been en
 dorsed by 23 veterinary professional organizations.
