DESCRIPTION:Dr. Kathleen Cooney will speaking to us about Hospice\, Palliat
 ive Care and Euthanasia.   This meeting will explore palliative care opt
 ions and more peaceful euthanasias\, as well as improving communication wi
 th clients in what is often one of the most delicate and difficult convers
 ations\n\nKathleen Cooney\, DVM\, MS\, CHPV\, has been practicing advanced
  end-of- life care for over 10 years. She is the founder of Home to Heaven
 \, P.C. in Loveland\, Colorado\, one of the world’s first\, and largest\
 , animal hospice services. She is also the founder of Cooney Animal Hospic
 e Consulting. Dr. Cooney is a past President of the International Associat
 ion for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care(IAAHPC) and remains active in t
 heir organization\, including design of their Animal Hospice and Palliativ
 e Care Certification Program\, launched in 2016. Dr. Cooney was one of the
  first in the world to become a certified provider of animal hospice and p
 alliative care (CHPV). She is well-known for her work in companion animal 
 euthanasia and has authored two books on the subject. Dr. Cooney has colla
 borated in euthanasia training for the AVMA\, AAHA\, IAAHPC\, and in 2017\
 , launched a certificate program for the Companion Animal Euthanasia Train
 ing Academy. She is a strong advocate for best practices in all aspects of
  end-of- life care and speaks nationally and internationally on such topic
 s.
