DESCRIPTION:Originally from northwest Ohio\, Dr. Jamie Berning is a 2011 gr
 aduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Af
 ter completing veterinary school she relocated to southeast Michigan and 
 worked as a small animal general practice veterinarian. Realizing her pass
 ion for dentistry and oral surgery\, she began working with board-certifi
 ed veterinary dentists in the spring of 2013 and started a residency prog
 ram later that year under the guidance of Ruth E. Barthel\, DVM\, FAVD\, D
 ipl. AVDC. She spent 4 years working alongside veterinary dentists\, and 
 gained exposure to a variety of diagnostics\, techniques\, and knowledge. 
 This included a balance of visiting dental referral practices around the c
 ountry and working in a dentistry-exclusive referral practice. Dr. Berning
  has taken numerous advanced oral surgery courses\, offered by joint team
 s of veterinary dentists and veterinary surgeons.
